Ten minutes after we left home today to walk down to Street Feast London I realized with a groan that I’d forgotten my camera. Which is a crying shame. Because the food there, it was worth photographing. There were soft steamed white buns stuffed with pork belly and hoisin sauce, cheesy kimchi fries, chorizo/steak/chicken/pork tacos on corn tortillas, grilled flatbread with beets, goat’s cheese and pea shoots, pistachio-raspberry-rose cheesecake and a cream cheese carrot cake that was a mile high. It was good eating.

I don’t have any photos of dinner but I do have a picture of the lunch Allan prepared for me:

Mixed greens with Mom RM's maple-balsamic-Dijon dressing, curried lentils on basmati rice, real ale chutney and strained homemade yogurt.

Also, today is Mango’s birthday! She turned 7, which is 49 in dog years, meaning she is firmly middle aged. You wouldn’t know it from how crazy she still is though.

Happy birthday Mango. Thanks for sleeping at my feet when I used to study in the house alone. Thanks for letting me hug your body and sometimes cry into your fur. Thanks for taking care of Mom and Dad now that we’re all out of the house. Remember when you ran out the door when Allan was working up the courage to propose to me? Even though I used to leave the house covered in dog hair, and you chewed up a library book that I had to pay $50 to replace (I was VERY mad), and you’ve left teeth marks on more than a few of my electronics, I love ya and you’re the best dog in the world.
